Privacy policy

Your data. Your rights.

Here we inform you about the processing of personal data and your rights.

Controller responsible for data processing

The controller responsible for the processing of your personal data is the owner of this website. Our legal business details can be found in the legal notice.

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We process your personal data in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

As a rule, our website can be used without providing personal data. Where personal data (for example name, postal address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis, as far as possible.

Processors, recipients

We process your personal data with the support of processors who assist us in providing our services (e.g. web host, e-mail newsletter dispatch service).

These processors are obliged to protect your personal data strictly and may not process your personal data for any purpose other than the provision of our services.

Your personal data is passed on only to service providers typical of business operations, such as banks (in the case of transfers to you), tax advisers (if you appear in our accounts), shipping service providers (in the case of dispatch to you), etc.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser’s address line changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser line.

When SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Contact form

After the contact form has been submitted, the personal data you have entered is processed by the controller within the meaning of data protection law for the purpose of handling your enquiry, on the basis of the consent you have given by submitting the form.

There is no statutory or contractual obligation to provide the personal data. The only consequence of not providing it is that you cannot submit your request and we cannot process it.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by written notice, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent before its withdrawal.

E-mail newsletter

By ticking the checkbox, you consent to the processing by the controller within the meaning of data protection law of the personal data you have entered, for the purpose of informing you about our current offers by means of an e-mail newsletter, until you withdraw your consent or object.

There is no statutory or contractual obligation to provide the personal data. The only consequence of not consenting is that you will not receive an e-mail newsletter.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by written notice or by clicking the unsubscribe link in the e-mail newsletter, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent before its withdrawal.

You may likewise object in the same way to the use of your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing. In the event of an objection, your personal data will no longer be processed for the purpose of direct marketing in the form of an e-mail newsletter.

Cookies

This website uses cookies.

Cookies make websites more user-friendly and efficient for the user. A cookie is a small text file used to store information. When a website is visited, the website can place a cookie on the website visitor’s computer. If the user visits the website again later, the website can read the data of the previously stored cookie and thus determine, for example, whether the user has visited the website before and which areas of the website the user was particularly interested in.

More information on cookies is available on WIKIPEDIA.

Changing the cookie settings

The user can determine in the settings of the web browser how the web browser handles cookies and which cookies are accepted or rejected. Where exactly these settings are located depends on the web browser in question. Detailed information can be found in the help function of the web browser in question.

If the use of cookies is restricted, it may no longer be possible to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

Cookies on our website

Our website uses the following providers:

  • Our website: Used to store the consent to the use of cookies.
  • Google: Used by Google to store user data in connection with the website statistics software Google Analytics. Further information is available from Google Analytics.
  • Facebook: Used to store user data in connection with the Facebook Pixel. Further information is available from Facebook Developer and in the Facebook cookie notices.
  • Hotjar: Used to store user data in connection with Hotjar. Further information is available in the Hotjar Cookie Information.

Server log files

For the purpose of monitoring the technical functioning and increasing the operational security of the web server, this website processes the following personal data in a server log file, on the basis of the overriding legitimate interest of the controller (technical security measures):

  • the IP address
  • the page from which the file was requested (the so-called referrer URL)
  • the name of the file
  • the date and time of the request (the so-called “time stamp”)
  • the amount of data transferred
  • the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • a description of the type of internet viewing program used (the “web browser”, “browser” for short; e.g. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, Opera, etc.)

This data is stored in personally identifiable form only temporarily, for a period of seven days. The log files are then deleted.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”), on the legal basis of overriding legitimate interest (analysis of website use). For this purpose we have concluded a data processing agreement with Google.

When our website is accessed, software establishes a connection to Google’s servers and transmits data to Google servers, some of which are located in the USA. Google Analytics also uses cookies to store information about the website user and to analyse the use of the website by website users.

This website uses the function “activation of IP anonymisation”. As a result, your IP address is first truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

According to Google, Google will use the data collected to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide further services related to website use and internet use.

Google will also transfer this information to third parties where applicable, if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google.

Detailed information on the handling of user data by Google Analytics can be found in the privacy policy of Google or of Google Analytics.

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

This function makes it possible to link the advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages that have been tailored to you on the basis of your previous usage and browsing behaviour on one device (e.g. mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

If you have given the corresponding consent, Google links your web and app browsing history to your Google account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalised advertising messages can be served on every device on which you log in with your Google account.

To support this function, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated IDs of users, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data in order to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising.

You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing / targeting by deactivating personalised advertising in your Google account; to do so, follow this link.

The aggregation of the collected data in your Google account takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent, which you can give to or withdraw from Google (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). For data collection operations that are not merged in your Google account (e.g. because you do not have a Google account or have objected to the merging), the collection of the data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the website operator’s interest in the anonymised analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

Further information and the privacy provisions can be found in the privacy policy of Google.

Deactivating Google Analytics

  • You can generally prevent the collection of your user data by Google Analytics on all websites by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: Download browser add-on.

Google reCAPTCHA

To protect enquiries submitted via internet forms, we use the service reCAPTCHA of the company Google Inc. (Google). The query serves to distinguish whether the input is made by a human or improperly by automated, machine processing. The query includes the sending of the IP address and, where applicable, further data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. For this purpose, your input is transmitted to Google and used further there. By using reCaptcha, you agree that the recognition you perform is incorporated into the digitisation of old works. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, however, your IP address is first truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of this service. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of reCaptcha is not merged with other Google data. The differing privacy provisions of the company Google apply to this data. Further information on Google’s privacy policies can be found at: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

Facebook Pixel

This website uses Facebook Pixel, a web analytics service of Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”), on the legal basis of overriding legitimate interest (analysis of website use). For this purpose we have concluded a data processing agreement with Facebook. Some of the data is transferred to the USA.

When our website is accessed, software establishes a connection to Facebook’s servers and transmits data to Facebook servers, some of which are located in the USA. Facebook Pixel also uses cookies to store information about the website user and to analyse the use of the website by website users.

According to Facebook, Facebook will use the data collected to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide further services related to website use and internet use.

Facebook will also transfer this information to third parties where applicable, if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Facebook.

We use Facebook Custom Audience and similar tools offered by Facebook to advertise on other websites. For this purpose, we share your data with the relevant providers (e.g. Facebook) and use cookies or similar technologies on our website to analyse how effective our advertising efforts there are.

Detailed information on the handling of user data by Facebook can be found in the privacy policy of Facebook.
