Serfaus is our home. At the DreiSonnen we use energy sparingly, buy from regional suppliers and train young people.

Much begins with the daily work: Martin looks after the building services, our kitchen team plans with experience and our staff keep learning on training courses. We want to be careful with what our house needs. Some things remain a task for the future, such as an alternative to our oil heating.

Energy & buildings

Martin knows the house and its building services.

A trained electrician, Martin brings a great deal of know-how to our house. He looks after more economical technology and is renewing the lighting with LEDs and the refrigeration for our food. We keep improving insulation, doors and windows too. Our electricity comes from hydropower.

For heating, we would like a solution other than oil. That is why we support a local heating network in Serfaus. The project is still open, and so is whether and when we can connect to it.

Purchasing & furnishing

Furniture that stays with us for a long time.

We like furniture that stays with us for many years. That is why we mostly choose durable joiner-made pieces, and we prefer to work with businesses from the region. So a piece of local craft comes into our house.

With our suppliers, too, we like to stay close: most of them come from the districts of Landeck and Imst. That supports local businesses. The goods themselves may come from elsewhere.

Kitchen & waste

Plan well, leave less over.

We enjoy cooking for you and want to throw away as little food as possible. Our hotel software and the kitchen's experience help us with quantities. That is how we plan how much of each dish to prepare.

For drinks we use returnable containers and kegs wherever possible, for example for beer and for lemonade served by the glass. Wine bottles go to glass recycling. Elsewhere, too, we try to avoid waste. We separate and recycle what we can.

Water & laundry

Even the tap can make a difference.

In our hotel and in the staff house we are taking the next steps: we are replacing the taps with a new, water-saving generation. Less hot water also means less oil to heat it.

With the laundry, we are glad of your help. If you use your towel once more, it saves unnecessary wash cycles. A small habit that has a place on holiday too. For washing we use detergent from hollu.

Working at the DreiSonnen

A good place to work.

Many people in our team have been with us for years, and many make their home here in the region. It matters to us that work fits around life. That is why we offer full-time and part-time work; flextime is one of our working-time models too.

In the staff house everyone has their own room with bathroom and balcony, plus a kitchenette. A place of your own to retreat to after work. Meals are provided for our team on all seven days of the week.

Training & development

Get ahead in your career.

We like it when people learn their trade with us and grow more confident in it over time. We train apprentices on an ongoing basis. Those who have been with us for longer also get regular opportunities to deepen their knowledge and develop further.

Most recently we made sommelier courses possible, as well as training for housekeeping and reception. We are glad when enjoying the work also sparks curiosity for something new.

Out and about in Serfaus

On foot to the U-Bahn.

For a walk through the village you are welcome to leave the car where it is. Our house is in traffic-calmed Serfaus, and you can reach the shops and the U-Bahn (Serfaus's underground railway) on foot. As a hotel guest you ride the U-Bahn free of charge. You will find connections for travelling by public transport on our getting here page.

If you come by electric car, an 11 kW charging point is ready at the hotel. We bill the electricity to your room. There are further public charging points in the village.

Together in the village

Serfaus is our home.

Twice a year we look forward to a visit from the kindergarten. The children dance with Sonni and eat nuggets together. Every month we contribute bread rolls to the seniors' afternoon. Encounters like these are part of life in Serfaus for us.

We are glad to help the local clubs too: we sponsor football kits and donate raffle prizes. We give ongoing financial support to the music band, the mountain rescue, the fire brigade and other clubs.
