Winter walking & snowshoeing in Serfaus
On foot, winter has its own pace.
Walk through the snow and stop for a bite on the way. Explore Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis on your own or on our guided winter walks.
Three routes with time to stop for a bite.
From a walk near the village to the panorama path on the mountain: routes we like. Before you set off, check trail status and when your hut stop is open.

From Serfaus · to the Leithe WirtBifangweg
From the village you walk up the Bifangweg to the Leithe Wirt. There you take time for a bite to eat before heading back. A lovely loop for a winter morning together. Skiers and snowboarders also use the path.

From the Sunliner to the KomperdellPanorama-Genussweg
Up with the Sunliner, then on foot towards Komperdell. On the Panorama-Genussweg there is time to stop and look out over the mountains. Afterwards you stop for a bite at the Schalber Alm. In this direction the path climbs up to Komperdell.

Short walk · also with a pushchairMadatschenweg
Across the Zeno Brücke and after a short, steep climb, the track continues to Madatschen. The way there is about 1.4 kilometres. For us, a stop for apple strudel belongs there. When conditions allow, it is also a lovely outing with a baby in the pram.
Questions about winter & snowshoe hiking
- Do I need a ski pass for winter walking?
-
You do not need a ski pass for a walk on freely accessible winter walking trails. If you take a cable car to the starting point, you need the appropriate ticket. The cable car company has the current pedestrian fares.
- How does winter walking differ from snowshoe hiking?
-
Winter hiking follows groomed paths through the snow. Snowshoes let you walk in deeper snow away from such paths. That requires suitable equipment and careful route planning. To get started, we recommend a guided snowshoe tour.
- Can I go winter walking with a pushchair?
-
Yes, when the path is in good condition the Madatschenweg is a lovely walk with a baby or toddler. It is signposted as pushchair-friendly, but begins with a short, steep climb. You can borrow a pushchair at DreiSonnen free of charge on request. In winter, check clearing, snow and ice before you set off.
- What equipment do I need for winter hiking?
-
Sturdy winter boots with a good tread and clothing suited to the weather are part of it. The region recommends shoe spikes. For a snowshoe tour, agree equipment and requirements with the provider; rental is available in regional sports shops.
- Are there guided walks at DreiSonnen?
-
Yes. Two guided winter walks a week are part of our included in-house programme. You will find each week’s route in the guest programme. Guided snowshoe tours by the regional ski schools are separate offers.
- Where can I see which winter walking trails are open?
-
The region publishes the current status of trails and facilities. Check it before your outing and observe closures as well as weather and avalanche warnings, especially away from groomed paths. When conditions are poor, you can spend your day at the hotel with the pool, sauna or games.
