Serfaus is located on a sunny plateau at 1400 metres above sea level in a region of Tyrol known as the Oberes Gericht, 90 kilometres south-west of Innsbruck. Welcome to the heart of the Alps!
Guests staying at the 4-star superior Hotel DreiSonnen are welcome to arrive using their own car and park free of charge at the edge of our car-free village. For the duration of your stay you can get around Serfaus either on foot or using the "Dorfbahn" underground railway free of charge.
Fun fact: Serfaus is the only place in Austria apart from the capital Vienna to have its own underground train. Thanks to the small size of the village and the clever design of the underground train it is possible to reach all the most important places quickly and easily.

Since 1985, when the underground train in Serfaus went into operation, the whole village has been car-free.
Guests are welcome to drive to their hotel on the day of arrival, but apart from that cars are banned in the village to ensure clean air and a peaceful atmosphere.
Cars can be parked free of charge at a large parking area on the edge of the village.
The decision to ban cars from the village of Serfaus was taken not only to improve the air quality but also to create a pedestrianised zone with minimal noise pollution and a slower pace of life.
This means that guests are welcome to drive to their hotel on the day of arrival, but otherwise they must leave their cars at the large parking area on the edge of the village. Sounds like hard work? It really isn't! From the parking area the underground train takes you to all the most important spots in the village. And the best thing is that you get to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
